Ready to get started on your digital product, but not sure what product you should make? The opportunities are endless, which can be a little intimidating at first! Luckily, I have you covered! Let’s talk about 4 digital product types that can help inspire ideas for your online shop in 2022.
I know that “digital products” is a pretty broad category, so here are just a few categories to start with for your online shop!
Here’s the dirty little secret about digital products: you don’t need to start from scratch! If you already have a few products under your belt, you can repurpose that content to focus on the highlights. For example, you can pull pieces from your online courses and turn them into new products (like workbooks!)
Your new product won’t be a clone of the original; it should be transformative in nature. They don’t need to be overly glamorous! For example, if you have a self-made outline for your 1:1 services with clients, you can easily turn that into a checklist as a digital product.
Let’s be honest: EVERYONE is disorganized. Likewise, everyone needs a little help to keep things in order. It’s no surprise, then, that planners make for great digital products!
If you have a system that keeps you on track, that can provide a great outline for a digital planner. These can be for specific events (like weddings) or more general (like a social media planner!).
Social media posts can be insanely time-consuming to plan, and even more of a pain to create, ESPECIALLY if you don’t have an artistic bone in your body!
If you have an eye for graphic design, social media templates are a great digital product that are always in demand. You can create Canva templates, Instagram carousel graphics, Pinterest designs, and more!
Templates ensure that all the posts share a common theme, have a consistent branding palette, and are attention-grabbing to boot! These templates keep posts pretty AND save time for the user, which makes them a perfect product for an artist to make.
Do you have any tricks for enhancing your content before you hit publish? If so, you may be sitting on a digital product goldmine in disguise.
Things like photo editing or Lightroom presets and filters are great examples of this! You may not even pay much attention to them in your own content creation process, but they instantly make your content more eye-catching at the push of a button.
Basically, if you have any content shortcuts that you’ve developed over the years, they may be worth exploring as a digital product. These can include website themes, report outlines, or spreadsheets with automatic calculations built-in (because really, who LIKES building new Pivot Tables?).
These are only a few ideas in the world of digital products! We could fill up a book with them (a digital product idea in itself!), but for now, these four categories should help get you on track!
Once you pick your product, it’s time to take that digital product and turn it into passive income for your business. Check out this blog to learn more about how to make money with your digital products online, and launch your online shop into 2022!
