Life as an introvert can be hard enough, but life as an introvert entrepreneur? Introverts make for great entrepreneurs, but it still comes with its challenges.
So how do you overcome that hurdle? Simple: you channel your strengths into your solution! For me, that meant creating a digital product shop. Here, all those introvert traits–my creativity, empathy, and attention to detail–all got to shine, but on MY terms.
Now, it’s your turn!
As an introvert, you have the ability to be a powerful entrepreneur if you choose a business venture that’s aligned with all of your unique talents. Here are 4 great reasons why starting a digital product shop is perfect if you’re an introverted entrepreneur.
Your “d-commerce” shop is a product of your own creation. There’s a lot of hard work behind the scenes, but it’s something you can work on by yourself. No major collaboration needed! Once you have your product created, the rest of the work is the “boring” stuff: setting up your shop, fiddling with your listing, and making it look as sleek and chic as possible.
That means you can put on your headphones, get cozy on the couch, and block yourself off from the world for a while. Perfection.
Distractions are the WORST for introverts. (And for introverts for ADHD? Forget about it.)
Sometimes distractions are inevitable (for example, when you are collaborating with other people on your team, and an unexpected issue comes up). But when you are working on your shop, you have a little more control over your work environment.
That means you don’t have to deal with a noisy office when you are trying to focus! Anywhere you can bring your laptop, you can set up your shop. Head to your favorite coffee shop, cuddle up on the couch, or head to your own home office: no matter where you are, you can optimize your environment so you can be as productive as possible.
There are a lot “business-y” things when it comes to setting up your shop, but there are also a lot of opportunities to show off your creative side. From the graphics to the descriptions to the actual layout of your shop, you can try out different variations and capture that special quality that makes your company special.
Introverts are often incredibly creative, so don’t forget to have a little bit of fun with this!
What would you rather do: film one stellar teaching course and post it on your shop, or deliver that same course again and again to each individual client?
Even putting aside the INSANE time commitment that would be, introverts also have to consider their social energy reserves. That energy gets depleted faster than an extrovert’s would, so with every interaction, you may need more time to recharge.
By posting that course on your shop, you can put all of your energy into creating an AMAZING course that uses all of your social energy one time. From there, you can disperse that course to your customers online and deliver that awesome performance time and time again, no recharging required.
Your d-commerce shop helps even the most introverted entrepreneur deliver quality, consistent results every time. You don’t need to just “get by” as an introverted entrepreneur–you can thrive!
